Here are some pictures from last week’s engagement party. Everything went perfectly, except the weather, but there’s no helping that! Luckily, there was plenty of space indoors and no one but me missed the box of outdoor decorations out in the car.
I made a quick drink recipe card as an easy way to let guests know how to make their own mojitos. It freed me up to be off doing something else instead of mixing drinks all night. Like starting a minor grease fire in the oven, but that’s another story.
I put out a spread of light hors d’oeuvres since the party took place in the evening after dinner. There were feta and walnut stuffed cucumbers, mini gazpachos with a key lime garnish, tomato and mozzarella skewers, rumaki (water chestnuts wrapped in bacon), fresh herb sourdough bread (baked by the husband that day) with an herbed dipping oil, and meringues and Oreo truffles for sweets.
The evening was a wonderful celebration for the upcoming wedding between two of my very favorite people. We lived up to the midnight portion of the party and celebrated into the wee hours of the night.
