Real Party: Midnight and Stardust Engagement Party

front hall tableHere are some pictures from last week’s engagement party. Everything went perfectly, except the weather, but there’s no helping that! Luckily, there was plenty of space indoors and no one but me missed the box of outdoor decorations out in the car.

blueberry mojitosThe blueberry mojitos were a huge hit. We ran out of Sprite, so people made Diet Coke blueberry mojitos, which were passable, but not nearly as good.

Navy & Silver Engagement PartyI made a quick drink recipe card as an easy way to let guests know how to make their own mojitos. It freed me up to be off doing something else instead of mixing drinks all night. Like starting a minor grease fire in the oven, but that’s another story.

cukes and plateI put out a spread of light hors d’oeuvres since the party took place in the evening after dinner. There were feta and walnut stuffed cucumbers, mini gazpachos with a key lime garnish, tomato and mozzarella skewers, rumaki (water chestnuts wrapped in bacon), fresh herb sourdough bread (baked by the husband that day) with an herbed dipping oil, and meringues and Oreo truffles for sweets.

gazpacho and tomatoesThe evening was a wonderful celebration for the upcoming wedding between two of my very favorite people. We lived up to the midnight portion of the party and celebrated into the wee hours of the night.

  3. I am so bummed that we couldn’t be there. Especially now that I have seen the pictures! Stephanie you have an amazing talent and I am floored at how wonderful everything looked. I am going to get one of the Blueberry Mojito cards and make one for Marc soon.
